MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - On Thursday afternoon July 5, at 5:30 p.m. deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to an injury collision on the I-24 bridge going eastbound.
Deputies said Javonna Goodman, 28, of Paducah, Kentucky was in the right-hand lane in the middle of the I-24 bridge when her vehicle became disabled.
Brett Stuart, 54, of Paducah, KY was also traveling in the right-hand lane when he saw Goodman's vehicle stopped according to officials.
Stuart applied his brakes and avoided contact with Goodman's vehicle although was struck in the rear-end by another vehicle operated by Karla Lee, 57, of Boaz, Ky.
Deputies said after being struck by Lee's vehicle, Stuart's vehicle traveled into the left-hand lane striking a vehicle being operated by Jonathon Thomason, 28, of Barlow, Ky.
Lee and Thomason were transported to area hospitals for non-incapacitating injuries. The I-24 bridge Eastbound traffic was shut down for around one hour to investigate the collision.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was assisted on scene by Mercy EMS, Concord Fire Dept., Speedy's Towing, and Meadow's Towing.
