Injuries after motorcycle crash on I-55 at 59 mm

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - According to Missouri Highway Patrol Troop E, there was a motorcycle crash on Interstate 55 Tuesday afternoon, July 3 at mile marker 59.

The state patrol confirms there were injuries involved. The crash happened at 4:20 p.m. in New Madrid County, Mo.

According to the crash report, 28-year-old Mark Kirkland of Langston, Alabama was headed northbound when the motorcycle's back wheel locked causing him to lose control.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash according to the report. Traffic was impacted for about an hour.

The road was clear as of 5:30 p.m.

Kirkland came away with moderate injuries.
