Two injured, vehicle overturned in Mayfield, KY

MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - A vehicle overturned and two people were injured on Jackson Purchase Parkway on July 3 according to The Kentucky State Police.
Police responded to the collision at the 20-mile marker on the roadway, at 8:13 a.m.
After police investigated, they said 17-year-old William G. Lemon of Melber, Ky, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado Pick-up truck traveling northbound.
Joseph L. Richards, 44, Albertville, Alabama, was driving a 2004 Peterbilt Semi and trailer also traveling north. Police said Lemon stopped abruptly in the construction zone, to attempt an illegal U-turn.

Richards struck Lemon's vehicle causing it to overturn. Lemon and his passenger, Isaac F. Comte, 64, of Mayfield, Ky were transported to hospitals in the area with non-life threatening injuries.
Both drivers and passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The investigation continues by Trooper Bryan Luckett. KSP was assisted on scene by Mayfield EMS, and the Graves County Sherriff's Office.
