Headquarters in Cape Girardeau and the office at the Hope Children's Home location in Jackson will remain fully staffed by volunteers and staff
members.

A board member says "The home is being "paused" to improve and expand our support for Foster Children in the 32nd Circuit".

"It's unfortunate that this has to happen, there's no good time to make a change like this but it is necessary so that we can serve the greatest amount of children and grow because the need keeps growing," said Crissy Mayberry, executive director of Hope for One More.

The company says it is trying to determine if the best use of the home is for the original purpose of emergency and temporary housing for foster children in the area.

According to the company, the Children's Division will work with the house parents on a transition plan.

The house parents will decide if they want to remain as foster parents and for how many children and will have a little less than three months to work on it

"The house parents are welcome to continue being foster parents after we have a pause in our operations on September first if they choose to," said Mayberry. "We've also offered if they decide to continue being foster parents to help them reestablish in a new home so they can keep the kids they are fostering with them"

The company says children not staying with the house parents will be placed with other foster care providers.
