Church burglary leads to arrest of Sikeston, MO man
ADVANCE, MO (KFVS) - The Chief of Police in Advance Missouri, Donnie Bohnsack, said a man was arrested after a burglary in Advance.
David Joel Bowen, 32, of Sikeston, Mo was arrested on burglary, stealing and property damage violations.
Bohnsack said he responded to the reported burglary on January 17 at the Advance First Baptist Church.
He said the burglar gained entry to the church by breaking glass from a rear door. Two doors of offices were severely damaged during entry.
Checks and two laptop computers were stolen according to Bohnsack. There were several items left on the floor as well like a flashlight, hammer, several screwdrivers and pliers. The items were not identifiable by anyone in the church.
Bohnsack said the items were submitted to the Missouri State Crime Lab for prints and DNA analysis. The lab results came in on April 30 and help develop the profile of Bowen. His prints matched those on the items found in the church.
