Storage Shed Meth Bust

Cape Girardeau, MO -- Cape Girardeau Police find a working meth lab and it's the first time they've found one inside a storage unit.

Dismantling the dangerous chemicals, used to make the meth kept area police and firefighters extremely busy Sunday morning.

Cape Police discovered the lab around 2:45 Sunday morning inside a storage unit on Golden Eagle Court, which is off North Kingshighway.  An officer on patrol spotted two suspicious individuals walking around the unit.  He knocked on the unit door, smelled chemicals, and then called for backup.

The Cape Fire Department and a HazMat team from Jackson helped Cape Police cleanup the meth lab.  No police officers or firefighters were hurt while dismantling the working meth lab.
