PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Poplar Bluff, Missouri man has pleaded guilty to charges in connection to the hit-and-run death of Heavenly Hafford.
Randel Sparks pleaded guilty to charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution.
Sparks hit Hafford,13, on Dec. 9, 2015 as she was walking near the intersection of Highway PP and Maud Street.
He entered that guilty plea in Greene County after a change of venue request. Sparks is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 20.
Another man, Ben Ressel, also faces charges in connection to Hafford's death.
Ressel faces felony charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution. His case was transferred to Pemiscot County on a change of venue request.
His attorney said Ressel turned himself in on Februrary 10, 2017. He was booked and released on a $25,000 bond.
He was originally arrested in Dec. 2015, but was never charged.
Ressel is scheduled to go to trial on Sept. 11.
