MARION, IL (KFVS) - A church in Marion, Illinois came to the rescue of the passengers on a Greyhound bus this week.

It happened around 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, the bus broke down south of Marion.

There were a few attempts to get the bus fixed on the roadside, but they were unsuccessful.

Knowing it would take a while to get a replacement bus from St. Louis, a District 13 trooper on scene called Cornerstone Church to see if they could help get those on the bus a hot meal and a warm place to wait.

The church sent one of their own church buses to pick up the passengers and brought them back to the church for a hot meal.

At last check, the Facebook post from ISP District 13 had more than 400 shares.
