PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Nine people reported minor injuries after a Paducah Area Transit System bus was rear-ended at around 10:14 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13.

According to Paducah police, the PATS bus was rear-ended on Park Avenue, between 32nd Street and Levin Avenue.

The bus driver, 40-year-old Tomicca Y. Banks, of Paducah, told police she was stopping at a bus stop on Park Ave. between 32nd St. and Levin Ave. when her bus was hit in the rear.

Police said the driver of the car, 71-year-old Judith Kruger, of Metropolis, Ill., told them she realized too late that the bus was stopping and she was unable to stop in time to avoid the crash.

Banks and eight passengers on the bus reported non-incapacitating injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The eight passengers, all from Paducah, ranged in ages from 27 to 60.

Police said Kruger was reportedly not injured.
