Dangerous Intersections
By: Wes Wallace

Monday's deadly accident in Cape Girardeau happened at the city's busiest intersection, but it's not even close to being the most dangerous intersection. A list provided by the Cape Girardeau Police Department ranks the intersection of Broadway near Kingshighway and Walker as third, with 23 accidents for the year 2004. That same year, the number two location with thirty crashes, is a section along Kingshighway between Themis and Independence. Cape's number one intersection for accidents - Mount Auburn at William and Gordonville, where 35 accidents were reported.

In Paducah, it's no secret Irvin Cobb Drive has more than it's fair share of traffic problems. A common accident intersection is there, at the light in front of Walmart. Another place to be on the lookout, just up the road on Irvin Cobb at Bridge Street. 19 accidents happened last year at Hinkleville Road and James Sanders, making it the Paducah intersection with the most accidents.
