Woman arrested for vandalism in Miner, Sikeston

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - A Sikeston woman is in police custody after allegedly going on a vandalism spree with pink spray paint.

According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, there were 16 reports of vandalism in Sikeston and Miner over the weekend.

The suspect, Erin Spurlock, 19, of Sikeston admitted to investigators that she painted various offensive words and phrases on homes, vehicles, mailboxes, and fences.

Sergeant Jon Broom with Sikeston DPS said Spurlock told investigators that the she vandalized a home in Miner as an act of retaliation.

Then, she allegedly went to Sikeston in an attempt to "throw off police."

Right now, Spurlock faces a charge of 1st degree property damage, but more charges are expected.
