DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - Police in Dexter, Missouri announced they will join with officers across the nation in the Child Passenger Safety Week Law Enforcement Campaign.
During child passenger safety week, police will be cracking down on Missouri's safety seat violators. The ultimate goal is to reduce highway fatalities and injuries to children.
Nearly 73 percent of all child restraints are not used properly. Missouri law requires all children younger than eight years old to be in the appropriate seat, unless they are 80 pounds or 4'9" tall.
Child Passenger Safety Week will run from September 18 through September 24.
