Crews respond to truck fire on Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Crews responded to a truck fire on Fountain Street in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Wednesday, August 31.

According to Captain Randy Morris with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, a passerby called 911 after seeing the truck on fire.

When fire crews arrived at the scene on Fountain Street near Highway 74, Capt. Morris said the truck was fully involved.

He said a couple was traveling from Illinois when they heard a pop. They looked back and saw that the truck was on fire.

Morris said the couple was able to get out safely before the cab of the truck caught fire.

No injuries were reported.

According to Capt. Morris, it was a total loss, but it is not considered suspicious.
