Red Cross offering free smoke alarms

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Southeast Missouri chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding a home fire prevention campaign at the Jackson Civic Center on Saturday, September 10.  It's part of the United Way's 1st annual United Days of Caring.

The Organization is partnering with the Jackson and Fruitland Fire Departments to install smoke alarms.

If you want to schedule a trained volunteer to install an alarm in your home, call 573-335-9471, ext. 1310 by September 5.

The Red Cross and United Way are also looking for volunteers.  Call if you'd like to help.
