MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Marshall County, Kentucky man is accused of "headbutting" an officer in the chest.
Paul Deuerling, 50, of Hardin, was charged with third-degree assault - police officer, fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to 4th Street in Hardin around 3:43 p.m. on July 30 for a disturbance.
According to a report filed by one of the officers, it was reported that the suspect had assaulted someone at the home and then fired a shotgun through a wall.
The officer tried to arrest the suspect and take him to his vehicle, but he allegedly resisted and "headbutted" the officer in the chest.
Officers say the suspect was taken to the ground and subdued before being taken to the hospital for treatment and then to the Marshall County Detention Center.
