MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Office is reporting that deputies responded to the intersection of US 60 and Maxon Road for a two-vehicle injury accident on Monday, June 6.
Deputies received the report around 10:30 a.m. and learned that Norman Ellis, 80, of Brookport, Illinois, was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra truck southbound on Maxon Road. Ellis was in the median of US 60 attempting to cross the eastbound lanes on US 60 and go southbound on Maxon Road. He failed to yield and pulled out in front of a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by Larissa Ellis, 28, of, Paducah, Kentucky.
Ellis was eastbound in the right lane of US 60 when Ellis struck her vehicle.
After the impact, both vehicles struck the guardrail along US 60. Ellis had to be freed by mechanical means from the driver's seat of her vehicle.
Norman Ellis was transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy EMS. Larissa Ellis was transported to Baptist Health by Mercy EMS.
The Concord Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene. Meadow's Towing removed the vehicles from the roadway.
The eastbound lanes of US 60 at Maxon Road were restricted to one-lane or blocked for approximately 40 minutes for clean-up from the collision.
