CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Baby Liberty, a camel, was born on Memorial Day at Lazy L. Safari and she is attracting lots of visitors.

Liberty's mom carried her for about 13 months and was a camel for the kids to ride almost all the way up until Liberty was born on Monday, according to Lazy L. Safari Owner Vicki Lantz.

It was during open hours on Monday when a crew member told Lantz she needed to come look at the mother camel.

Shortly thereafter, Liberty was born and in front of lots of witnesses.

Liberty has become quite the attraction in her whole two days of being "alive." In fact, Lantz said that they have even had more visitors show up to see the new baby camel.

Liberty lays in the hay in her area and stands up with her wobbly long legs when people come to visit her.

Visitors we spoke with came all the way from Ellsinore, Mo. on Wednesday, June 1 to come check out the exotic animals. When they saw Liberty, they thought she was very cute and loved her.

Recently, other babies were born there are Lazy L., which includes lemurs and potbelly pigs.

While all the animals are an attraction to see, Liberty seems to love the attention she gets from the visitors.
