JONESBORO, IL (KFVS) - We've learned more about a man found dead in a trash truck in Jonesboro, Illinois early Friday morning.

The body of Anthony Gilks, 35, of Anna, Ill. and originally of Winthrop, Maine, was discovered inside the back of the truck when the crew was picking up the trash at Jonesboro Rehab and Nursing Center.

According to the preliminary autopsy report, the cause of death appears accidental, and consistent with a "compression type injury".

Detective Bryan Watkins with the Anna Police Department says no foul play is suspected, but the investigation is still ongoing, pending the final autopsy result.

According to the coroner, the truck had been in several towns before making its way to Jonesboro, so it is not clear where Gilks' body originated.

The body is not connected to the facility where it was found.

Illinois State Police investigators are assisting the Anna Police Department in the investigation.
