Cairo, IL police investigating report of plane crash

CAIRO, IL (KFVS) - Police in Cairo, Illinois ended the search for a plane crash on Thursday afternoon, May 26.
According to the Alexander County sheriff, it appeared to be a false alarm.
According to police they received a report of a plane crash on 7 Mile Road and were looking into the validity of it.
They said a beacon signal alerting to a plane in trouble was received but it could have been from up to 5 miles away.
The Alexander County Sheriff's Office was also assisting.
