Semi crash in New Madrid Co. seriously injures pedestrian

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A person suffered serious injuries in a semi crash on Interstate 55 in New Madrid County Wednesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was underneath a semi on the side of the road when it was hit by another semi.

The pedestrian,59-year-old Milisav Brozovic, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi, Roy Anderson, 35 of Mississippi, did not suffer any injuries, but his tractor trailer was totaled in the crash.

A third driver, Cape Girardeau resident Ted Ivie, also crashed when he hit the debris in the road. He was not injured.

The wreck happened in the southbound lanes at the 49 mile marker.

Witnesses say debris from one of the tractor trailers was spilled all over the highway.
