Jackson man wins Powerball prize

JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - A Jackson man is $50,000 richer.

Gerald Adams was playing for the $227 million jackpot on April 20, but landed a $50,000 prize instead.

Adams, a retired dairy farmer, substitute teaches a few days a week.

He also plays the Powerball when the jackpot is big.

Adams picked his winning numbers, "I don't play every week, but I do play several times a month. I use the birthdays of my family and the ages."

The winning numbers on April 20 were: 12, 25, 30, 52, 62 and the Powerball was 8.

Adams matched four whiteball numbers and landed the Powerball.

He said he will pay off his house, pay a few bills, and buy a few more Powerball tickets.

Adams bought the ticket at Jackson Mart on Old Cape Road in Jackson.
