CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - On May 6. Cape Girardeau is celebrating Bike to Work and School day with an event at The Osage Centre.

At 6:15 a.m. free breakfast will be available for those cycling around town.

Before the event kicks off Zumba is available for a fun warm up.

If you are having trouble with your bike, a doctor from CycleWerx will be on had to check out the problem.

Bicycle registration will also be available from the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Participants can also get involved in a raffle, grab a free t-shirt, and get more information on the benefits of cycling.

Last year around 100 people participated in the event.

The City of Cape Girardeau says cycling to work is a great way to, "to turn your transportation into a fun traveling experience and it keeps the body active."

Free coffee and iced tea will also be available to those on their bikes at Cup n Cork in downtown Cape.
