Carbondale PD arrest man for possession of suspected cocaine

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - The Carbondale Police Department is reporting that one man has been arrested for possession of suspected cocaine on Saturday, Jan. 23.

An officer officer conducted a traffic stop Saturday at 10:58 p.m. on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 100 block of North Gum Street.

During the course of the traffic stop, officers identified the driver as Daquan A. Higgins. Higgins was found to be in possession of what was believed to be cocaine.

Higgins was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
