HURST, IL (KFVS) - A suspect is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Hurst on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Williamson County States Attorney Brandon Zanotti, the suspect was identified as Willie Holderfield, 41, of DeSoto, Ill.

It happened at 111 Seba Street around 3:15 p.m.

According to Illinois State Police, agents with ISP were searching for a suspect on a felony arrest warrant for an armed robbery of a Carterville pharmacy that happened on Dec. 14.

Lt. William Sons with Illinois State Police says officers encountered the armed man inside the home.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and the officers shot at the suspect, hitting him.

The suspect was taken to the hospital. Police say he later died.

Police found another person in the house. That person is being interviewed, but is not facing charges.

Sons says they are not releasing what agency the officer or officers involved in the shooting are with.

Multiple agencies are on the scene as police process the scene.

The ISP Crime Scene and ISP Division of Internal Investigations are handling the investigation.
