SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Multiple fire departments worked to put out a fire at a scrap yard in Scott County.
Firefighters were dispatched to the fire on County Road 539 around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Ankle-deep floodwaters near the structure made it harder to put out the fire.
"It is very treacherous to all the fire personnel," said Miner Fire Chief Zach Albright. "As you can see, there's a lot of equipment, a lot of trip hazards, a lot of fall hazards, a lot of fuel. We have a lot to do to make sure we're not standing in a lake of gasoline or diesel fuel."
No one was hurt and firefighters believe the cause of the fire was electrical.
The Sikeston Fire Department, the Miner Fire Department and the Scott County Rural Fire Department all responded to the scene.
