IRON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The South Iron County Fire Protection District caught video of a vehicle just as it was swept away by rising floodwaters.

It happened off of Hwy. F outside of Annapolis, Missouri.

The Southern Iron County Fire Protection District got a call of people stuck on the roof of the vehicle around 5 a.m. Monday. When crews arrived, the people had already made it safely to shore.

When Fire District Chief Byron Ashlock went back to check on the vehicle, he caught the floodwaters sweeping the vehicle from the road on video.

No one was in the vehicle when floodwaters pushed it off the road.

The Southern Iron County Fire Protection District wants to remind drivers that it is not safe to drive across flooded roadways because it only takes a small amount of water to change things in an instant.
