HERRIN, IL (KFVS) - A Herrin, Ill. man is in police custody after a reported home invasion and later forcing an elderly man to withdraw money from an ATM.
The Herrin Police Department reports officers were dispatched around 3 a.m. on Dec. 13 in response to a home invasion.
Further investigation showed the suspect, 19-year-old Austin Breault, allegedly forced his way into a home and robbed an 85-year-old man of cash at gun point.
The victim told police the suspect later took him to an ATM and forced the victim to withdraw more cash.
Herrin police located and arrested Breault on Dec. 14.
Breault was charged with home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated unlawful restraint.
The suspect remains behind bars at the Williamson County Jail pending a court appearance.
