ILLINOIS (KFVS) - The Illinois Department of Health is urging anyone who hasn't gotten a flu shot yet, to get one as soon as possible.
This is National Influenza Vaccination Week, a time to highlight the importance of continuing influenza vaccination.
While many people typically get the flu vaccine in early fall, flu activity usually peaks between December and February, a time when many people are out and about.
Every season, flu causes millions of illnesses, hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths.
To find a location near you to get your flu shot, contact your local health department.
