Caruthersville man killed after pedestrian vs. car crash in Pemiscot Co.

PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating after a Caruthersville man was hit by a car in Pemiscot County on Monday evening.

The crash happened along Highway K about five miles north of Hayti, Mo. just after 9 p.m.

According to the highway patrol, 29-year-old Dustin Godair was walking in the southbound lane of Highway K when he was hit by a southbound car.

The driver of the car was identified as 48-year-old Anthony Cameron, of Marston.

After hitting Godair, Cameron's car traveled off the left side of the road, struck two cable barrier posts, and knocked out 20-feet of cable.

The Pemiscot Count Coroner says Godair was killed at the scene of the crash.

The major crash investigation unit team has been called in to investigate the incident.

The highway patrol reports this is the 59 fatal crash in Troop E for 2015.
