Paducah police look for woman in check fraud case

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Paducah Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who used a counterfeit check at a Cracker Barrel in Paducah, Kentucky on Monday, Nov. 30.

Police said the suspect used a counterfeit American Express Traveler's Check to purchase a $20 gift card and received $80 in change at the restaurant.

Surveillance video shows the woman was riding in a white Suburban-type vehicle and police describe her as a Hispanic female wearing what appears to be a gray top and blue jeans.

Police said the money the suspect used lacked watermarks and had no reflective mark on the front.

The Paducah Police Department is asking anyone with information about the woman's identity to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 443-TELL. Tipsters also may access the online tip form through the City of Paducah website at Information leading to an arrest or indictment may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
