2.5 magnitude earthquake hits near New Madrid

NEW MADRID, MO (KFVS) - A 2.5 magnitude earthquake hit near New Madrid Monday morning.

The quake hit at 9:56 a.m.

It was centered four miles southwest of New Madrid and was 3.5 miles deep.

Just one week earlier, the same area of southeast Missouri experienced at least 12 earthquakes on Wednesday, Nov. 25. People near Marston and Lilbourn felt shaking on Wednesday.
