Energy, IL police find cocaine, Xanax, pot, meth during traffic stop

ENERGY, IL (KFVS) - A Marion, Ill. man faces drug charges after a traffic stop in Energy, Ill. Saturday night.

Darien J. Williams-Wright, 23, of Marion, Ill. faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, manufacture/delivery of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers and K9 teams stopped a 2003 Mercedes for multiple traffic offenses on Saturday, Nov. 21 just before 11 p.m.

They could smell a strong odor of suspect cannabis, according to the Energy Police Department.

Police seized more than 80 grams of cannabis, varying amounts of cocaine, controlled substances like Xanax, nearly $1,800 in cash, and other drug paraphernalia.

Williams-Wright was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
