I-55 northbound lanes blocked near mile maker 104 due to car fire

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Witnesses say a car was on fire on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County, around mile marker 104 in the northbound lane.

Both lanes of traffic were stopped as of 3:05 p.m.

Officials say two people were in the car, saw smoke, and decided to pull over.

No one was injured.

Traffic was reportedly backed up for almost two miles.
