Perryville, MO woman killed in car crash

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - One person was killed in a car accident in Perry County, Mo. on Friday night after crashing into a parked semi trailer.

Officials say they responded to hearing a loud noise in the area of Interstate 55 and Lake Dr. late Friday night.

Police responded and found a car collision on the Southbound Interstate 55 off ramp.

A silver 2010 Dodge Town and Country minivan exiting the interstate had struck a semi trailer that was parked off the roadway on the shoulder of the ramp.

Emergency personnel from Perryville Police Department, Perry County Ambulance, Perryville Fire Department, Missouri Highway Patrol, and Perry County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene to assist.

The driver of the van, Alysha R. Pecaut, 39, of Perryville, was declared dead at the scene.

There was one occupant in the sleeper of the tractor-trailer at the time of the collision and she was uninjured.

Perry County Coroner's office was contacted and they responded to the scene as well.

The Perryville Police Department Crash Investigation Team was contacted and are investigating the collision.

The Southbound exit ramp was closed down and MO Department of Transportation assisted in diverting traffic until the ramp was reopened at 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

The investigation is on-going at this time and the cause of the accident has been undetermined as of yet.
