The officer and deputies from Pemiscot County conducted a felony traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle.
Chief Stanfield said the officers found a 9mm handgun, SKS assault rifle, several rounds of ammunition and baggies of marijuana packaged for sale inside the car.
29-year-old Jonathan Lewis Foreman was arrested at the scene.
He is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Foreman is being held on $75,000 bond. Chief Stanfield said more charges could be filed against Foreman once the investigation is complete.
