CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri was recently given a 4 star rating from the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid.
Star ratings allow consumers to see key differences in quality among nursing homes to help guide better care decisions.
The Centers for Medicare/Medicaid rates nursing homes on three categories: results from on-site inspections by trained surveyors, performance on quality measures and levels of staffing.
The CMS Nursing Home Compare website provides results from the rating system, with facilities ranked from 1 to 5 stars. In the Cape Girardeau/Jackson area, the Lutheran Home is one of only three nursing homes to receive an overall 4 or 5 star rating.
"This is such a critical process for holding nursing facilities to the highest standards, and ensuring families can feel confident in their choice of provider," Teresa Brown, RN, RAC-CT, administrator at the Lutheran Home, said. "Providing that highest level of care, with continuous improvement to our service lines, is really what we're focused on for the ultimate benefit of residents and their families.
"Overall, these results only confirm the dedication and compassion that our team offers every day to our residents and their families. We're very proud to be recognized for those qualities and high standards."
