MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A McCracken County, Kentucky woman was arrested in connection with a prescription drug abuse investigation.
Colby Mills was indicted by a grand jury on three counts of attempting to or obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, false statement or forgery.
According to Paducah police, Mills was arrested early on Tuesday afternoon at the police department and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Police say Mills was arrested in early June on a charge of alcohol intoxication, and officers allegedly found an empty bottle of Hydrocodone in her purse.
Based on the date the prescription was filled, police say the officers determined there should have been 80 pills in the bottle.
They say a bottle of Alprazolam, an anti-anxiety drug, was also allegedly found in her purse. They say it contained 23 tablets and based on the fill date, should have had 54.
An investigation was opened into Mills' prescription drug history.
The police department's prescription drug investigator found that in May and June, Mills had prescriptions for Alprazolam filled at two different pharmacies either the same day, or several days apart.
He presented his investigation to a McCracken County grand jury, who then indicted Mills.
