POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - A Poplar Bluff man made his final stride to the finish line today after running more than 600 miles.
Dale Manning started his run from Hartford, Michigan on September 9 in an effort to raise money for the children of St. Jude.
Manning said while running, he added more than a dozen names to the shirt he wears in honor of those young patients.
We spoke with Manning after he crossed the finish line.
Manning is an X-ray technician at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
"These children deserves anything we could do for them," Manning said. "This is a little bit compared to what they need, but we got to keep on trying and keep on praying for them. It's so important and I'm so sincere when I say that my heart is with those children."
At 66 years old, Manning said even though this is his last run, he plans to run another 2 miles to hand deliver the check to St. Jude.
