CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - Two Mississippi County residents were arrested after a search at their Charleston home revealed stolen property.
The investigation began last week when the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department received information that Jonas Martell Phillips, 27, and Kelita Lashae Moore, 28, both of Charleston, were in possession of items stolen during several recent burglaries.
During their search, officials found property that had been reported stolen, associated with at least two recent burglaries.
At that time, Phillips and Moore were arrested and taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.
Following their arrests, deputies interviewed both parties and strengthened the existing probable cause to believe the two had received and kept the property, despite knowing the items had been stolen.
The interviews also provided officials with a wealth of information regarding several local burglaries and weapons violations, most of which remain under investigation at this time.
Phillips and Moore are each charged with receiving stolen property.
Bond for the two was set at $50,000 each.
