Rend Lake College taking back unwanted prescription drugs

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Rend Lake College is taking back prescription drugs in Mt. Vernon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 26th at the MarketPlace.

The community is encouraged to bring their unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs.

Liquids, needles, or syringes will not be accepted.

Rend Lake College who are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office are offering to take back service free and anonymous, with no questions asked.

September 26th is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, which intends to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
