MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Murphysboro gas station.

The teen was taken into custody at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31 and charged with armed robbery.

According to police, they responded to the Moto Mart at 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 for a report of an armed robbery.

Police say a man entered the business and demanded money while armed with a knife. He then ran from the store with an unknown amount of money.

After his arrest, the 16-year-old was taken to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center in Benton, Ill.
