Woman dies after walking into path of tractor-trailer on I-55

STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A De Soto, Missouri woman is dead after walking into the path of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 55.
The De Soto woman was struck about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday in Ste. Genevieve County. A Freightliner truck was heading north on I-55 when the 40-year-old woman walked into its path, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
It happened .2 miles south of Route Y.
The St. Louis man driving the truck was unhurt.
