PINHOOK, MO (KFVS) - Demolition started in Pinhook on Thursday morning while people who used to live there came back for one last look.
Demolition started this morning around 8 a.m. and people who lived here before the flood of 2011 made sure they didn't miss a thing.
One person surprised his family and drove from Wisconsin to say goodbye.
Aretha Robinson has lived in Pinhook since she was 16 years old and says though she's sad to see it being bull dozed, she's happy that it will look nice again.
"It going to seem kind of lonely, but I'm glad to see them doing the demolition, but I'm also sad to see it because this was really home for me and my family," she said.
Demolition is supposed to be finished by the end of the month.
People from the community say they still plan to hold their annual Pinhook Day here next May.
