CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - An investigation is under way in Christian County, Ky. after a shooting resulted in the death of a White Plains man.
It all happened on Wednesday just before 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Apex Orange Grove Road in White Plains.
According to Kentucky State Police, 54-year-old Donnie Mannahan showed up at his neighbor's house and started pounding on the front door and cursing.
Police say the homeowner, 43-year-old Donald Bourland, asked Mannahan to leave his property and not enter his home.
Mannahan then reportedly broke through the front door and entered the house.
According to Kentucky State Police, that's when Bourland fired one round from a pistol he had retrieved, hitting Mannahan in the chest.
Mannahan died at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville.
