CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - It's been three years since S-I-U student Molly Young was found dead in Carbondale, Illinois -- Tuesday night family and friends remembered the young woman with a candlelight vigil.

Loved ones have gathered at Turley Park in Carbondale for the past two years because it was one of Molly's favorite places to be in the summertime.

Her father, Larry Young, still dealing with legal battles over her death, says he's thankful the community continues to support him and his daughter.

"Molly was my baby daughter and I will do anything it takes to see that justice is served,  not only for Molly but for all of the people that are grieving... Unscrupulous authorities are treating them badly," Young said.

Young was found dead in her ex-boyfriend's apartment three years ago.

No charges have been filed in the case.

Police say there's not enough evidence to call Molly Young's death a murder.
