Man catches Missouri state-record fish

STONE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Murphysboro native has a whale of a tale after snagging a Missouri state-record paddlefish this weekend.

Andy Belobraydic III, 33, who lives in Richwood, Missouri now, was fishing on Table Rock Lake Saturday, March 21,when he caught the 140 pound, 9 ounce monster.

The record fish measured just over 56 inches in length and over 43 inches around. Belobraydic said he caught it on the James River arm of the lake.

He said he caught two paddlefish earlier in the day, but had to let them go because they were not large enough to keep. But when he got the third hit, he knew size would not be a problem.
