Kentucky man accused of pulling victim's hair, driving off

BENTON, KY (KFVS) - Police say a man was put in jail after an assault on the parking lot of a Benton, Kentucky business.
Police say Hunter J. Demumbree, 20, of Benton faces charges with wanton endangerment first, TBUT over $500, unlawful imprisonment first degree, assault fourth degree, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
According to Benton police, an officer was dispatched Tuesday to an assault on the parking lot of Priceless IGA.
The victim told the officer that the man had assaulted her.
She said that Demmbree her in the face several times causing a an injury, according to police.
Police say Demumbree later drove away with her in the vehicle and he began to hit her.
She opened the door to try and get out and he grabbed her by the hair and continued to drive, according to police.
When he let go she fell from the vehicle and was able to get up and go inside the store for help.
A short time later Demumbree was found.
He was booked into the Marshall County Detention Center. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police assisted.
