Women's History Month Spotlight: Nancy Wake

(KFVS) - It's Women's History Month and #WomenYouShouldHaveHeardOf has been trending on Facebook and Twitter.

Here's a woman you may not have heard of: Nancy Wake.

She was a news reporter in Europe before WWII, and became a spy and saboteur for allied forces, known as "The White Mouse".

At one point during the war, Wake was the Gestapo's most wanted person, with a 5 million-franc price on her head.After she fled France, she learned the Nazi's had tortured her husband to death in 1943 for refusing to disclose her whereabouts.

She is credited with saving hundreds of British and American lives, and was awarded the U.S. Medal of Freedom, as well as similar medals from Great Britain and France.
