PRINCETON, KY (KFVS) - The back of a building in Princeton, Ky. collapsed Wednesday.

Assistant Princeton Fire Chief Brent Thompson says it happened between 6:30 and 7:30 Wednesday morning.

Crews responded to Antiques on Main at 124 E. Main shortly after 8 a.m. to find the foundation partially collapsed.

Thompson says a back corner of the building collapse in large part due to melting snow and recent rain.

No one was in the building when it happened. No one was injured.

The back of the building has been barricaded off. Crews are worried about further collapse.

The building was built in the 1880s. The rear of the building faces Big Springs Park. The collapse did not impact traffic.

City officials and state inspectors lifted the road closures on a section of Hwy. 293 south after a building on the corner of Main Street and South Jefferson was no longer in danger of collapsing. That building once housed Ratliff Hardware Store.
