LYON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Nashville, Tennessee man was injured when officers say he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed on Interstate 24 on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, at around 2:30 p.m. Billy Turner, 82, was driving eastbound in I-24 when he fell asleep and veered into the median.

Deputies say Turner woke up, over-corrected and re-entered traffic in the eastbound lane.

They say the 2003 black Ford Ranger he was driving began to skid, left the interstate again and hit a guardrail before overturning.

Turner was pulled from the vehicle by other drivers and was taken to the hospital by ambulance for his injuries.
